About Us

We Built This Firm Because Founders Like You Deserved Better.

Highland St. Charles was built on a simple premise: the fractional advisory model that large enterprises have used for decades should be accessible to the founder-led businesses that need it most.

We specialize in

  • Manufacturing
  • Commercial Construction
  • Bid-Solicited Project Work
  • Fixed Asset-Intensive Industries
  • Trucking & Transportation

Origin Story

I built this firm because I’ve seen what happens when the advisory world ignores the founders building real things in the physical economy. Manufacturers, construction operators, trucking families — people who have built something genuinely valuable and been told by bankers and consultants that it isn’t quite legitimate enough.

Our clients are mostly rural and small-town operators, and to a lesser extent they may operate from suburban locations. They don’t have Class A office space in major cities. They have dirt under their fingernails and they’re not embarrassed about it. And for years, the big-city consultants and institutional advisors looked past them, or down at them, or simply didn’t understand the world they operate in.

The name “High Exit Value” is intentional. There is no market for headaches and sleepless nights. But there is a market — a real, premium market — for the business you can build when someone finally helps you run it the right way. That’s what we do.

The Best Exit Starts Years Before the Sale

Ideally, we are talking with a founder at least three to five years before their intended transaction. In the last two years before a sale, a savvy buyer is doing their due diligence and scrutinizing your business intently. Further out than that, we can demonstrate a genuine turnaround — show that acute problems were identified, fixed, and that the business emerged stronger and more resilient. That’s a story a buyer can believe and a premium they’ll pay for.

Mission

To help founder-led businesses achieve financial clarity, operational excellence, and a premium exit — on the founder’s terms.

Our Values

  • Empathy First – We started with listening, not frameworks.
  • Accountability Over Advice – We don’t just tell you what to do. We help you do it.
  • Clarity in Complexity – We translate the complicated into the actionable.
  • Specialization – We go deep in the industries we serve, not wide.
  • Transparency – In our pricing, our process, and our recommendations.

The Full Lifecycle Vision

High Exit Value serves clients across three phases: Operate, Transact, and Steward. We are building toward the day when a founder can engage us as a growth partner, work through a transaction with us, and trust us with their post-exit wealth — from the first site visit to the last financial plan. We’re not there yet in full. But that’s where we’re going.

Disclosure

High Exit Value is a trade name (doing business as) of Highland St. Charles. All client engagements and contracts are executed by Highland St. Charles. High Exit Value is the brand through which we go to market.
